Toronto anti LTTE Tamils want JVP to join MR government

Toronto anti LTTE Tamils want JVP to join MR government

By Hasaka Rathnamalala from Toronto

About hundred and fifty Sri Lankan expatriates gathered to listen JVP MPs Anura kumara Dissanayake and Ramalingham Chandrasekaran on Saturday October 25th in Scarborough Civic center, Toronto, Canada. Event was organized by JVP committee in Canada.

Even though every one expected to hear JVP vision on the Indian intervention and how to face the Indian challenge at this very moment; two JVP MPs fail to explain their party’s stand on the issue. Instead they kept repeating the history of the conflict and how everything will be solved in an equal society under JVP.

Also Two MPs had a hard time explaining especially Tamil listeners why they left MR government. But answers seem not good enough to make them happy. Majority of the audience who were anti LTTE elements in Tamil Diaspora want JVP to join MR government and help to finish LTTE terrorism.

India: A Chicken in an Elephant body!

India; A Chicken in an Elephant body!

By Hasaka Rathnamalala

Once again for the third time in three days an Indian official called on Sri Lankan counterpart on the Sri Lankan Tamil issue. This time the Indian foreign minister called Sri Lanaka’s high commissioner on the request of LTTE; a banned terrorist organization.

A man hiding thirty feet under ground sending remote signals through his Tamilnadu antenna to control world’s largest democracy! What a shame?

It is now very clear the ambitions of Tamilnadu chauvinist politicos are to save LTTE terrorists from the grip of Sri Lankan army. It is a shame that mighty Indian government is surrendering to LTTE demands and keeps barking LTTE slogans to Sri Lankan high commissioner and other officials. Is this the way worlds largest democracy should behave in a moment of truth? What a shame?

India is surrendering to the killer of one of her great sons, Rajeev Gandhi and allowing to attack and burn her national Newspaper “The Hindu”. What next is the question? Doesn’t India have a national police force to crack down on LTTE terrorists in Tamilnadu and tell them that India is a democracy not a terror state?

Tamilnadu chauvinists always wanted to make Tamilnadu a separate state. Fighting in Sri Lanka is a part of that wider agenda. A small part of Sri Lankan Tamil Diaspora affiliated with LTTE is funding that agenda. A failure in Sri Lanka is a great disaster for them. LTTE funded Tamilnadu goons are in a mudslinging campaign over Sri Lanka and taking over the situation in Tamilnadu and jealous big Tamilnadu politicos like Karunanidhi joined the bandwagon just to save themselves in the next election; on the cost of innocent Sri Lankan Tamil civilians. Is this the way protecting Tamil civilians in Sri Lanka?

Of cause India or Tamilnadu politicos don’t have any clue about Tamils in Sri Lanka. It is Sri Lankan government who feed them and nourishes them even they are in Tiger held areas. Even though war has been there for over two decades Sri Lankan government kept sending weekly quota of foods, medical items and essential goods because still Wanni is a part of Sri Lanka and those innocent Tamil civilians are citizens of Sri Lanka not Tamilnadu or India.

Earlier Sri Lankan army managed to beat all LTTE operatives from Eastern province with zero civilian causalities today they are applying it to Wanni. Eastern province today is in democratic path and developing very rapidly. Of cause we all know how Tamilnadu government treat Indian Tamils when they came back home from Sri Lanka under Srima-Shasthri agreement.

How about today? Are the Sri Lankan Tamil refugees in refugee camps in Tamilnadu are safe? They are suffering in those camps with lack of facilities. Do those Tamilnadu LTTE Muppets drop a single tear on them? Are they not Tamils? This is where Indian central government should step up and take action. Barking LTTE terrorist slogans to Sri Lanka is not an act of a regional leader.

What India should do in this hour is to educate Tamilnadu citizens about the real situation in Sri Lanka and ask Velupillai Prabakaran to release all Tamil civilians he is holding in Wanni as a human shield. Let them come through the safe passage Sri Lankan army has created and let them reach the cleared areas.

That is how we should protect Tamils in Sri Lanka. If Indian central government has guts to do that Tamilnadu politicos will never be able to take Sri Lankan Tamils on a ride and blackmail Indian government. And then we could find out, whom these Tamilnadu politicos are actually trying to save? Is it Tamil civilians or Mr.Velupilli Prabakaran?

If Tamilnadu Politicians want to save Tamils then let the SL Army destroy LTTE first
By Hasaka Rathnamalala

The statement made by Hon. Prime minister Man Mohan Singh on the Sri Lanka conflict giving us a sense of direction to go in order to find a solution to this two decades old conflict. In his statement Dr. Singh mentioned, “ … the situation in Sri Lanka does not call for military victory but negotiated, political settlement that respects Sri Lankan sovereignty and human rights of ethnic Tamils”. I thing that was what successive Sri Lankan Governments believed and worked for; but unfortunately each negotiation ended with more blood shed as LTTE never believe a negotiated settlement is the answer to this conflict.
In that case a questions arise; with whom Sri Lankan Government should negotiate? Is it LTTE? If the negiaciation is with LTTE will the LTTE agree to a solution within a sovereign Sri Lanka as Dr. Singh mentioned? If the answer is yes! Why LTTE walk away from previous negotiations by giving silly reasons? Not only previous peace talks but also Indian brokered 13th amendment to the Sri Lankan constitution were fine optunaties for a genuine group who would look for real solution to this conflict. Unfortunately LTTE trusted and believed more on their military power and finally check met with President Mahinda Rajapaksha.
Successive Sri Lankan governments after 1983 have recognized and utilized almost all Tamil demands except a separate country. But still LTTE wanted to fight for a separate country, as living in an undivided Sri Lanka is not what they want. LTTE does understand they will never get a separate country by negotiation. What they demanding now is “Tamils don’t have a country of their own”. Is that a Sri Lanka’s problem? If LTTE wants a separate country for Tamils they might be thinking Sri Lanka is an easy escape goat than India or Malaysia because making that demand in Tamilnadu or in Malaysia would be disastrous for them instead carving a country for Tamils in Sri Lanka will give those elements a huge boost.
India should understand now the risk of saving LTTE at this point is a grave threat to national security of their own country. Because those who crying on saving Tamils in Sri Lanka are actually crying for to save LTTE from the grave situation they are facing in Killinochchi. If those voices are actually crying for Tamils they should know 54% of total Tamil population living in Sri Lanka are living among Singhalese in other provinces. Out of other 46% major portion is living in Eastern province and the other part is in Jaffna peninsula. These Tamils don’t support LTTE or it’s terrorism. Infact they have chosen democratic path to gain their demands. There are so many Tamil ministers in the present Sri Lankan government. So many high-ranking government officers in every part of the government services. Those Tamils are working for one Sri Lankan identity not for a Tamil only identity. Tamilnadu and Indian politicians must understand this truth on Sri Lanka before they bark on Sri Lanka’s internal matter. Also they should understand Sri Lankans cannot go forward as a country without getting rid of LTTE terrorism. If Tamilnadu politicians really want to support Tamils in Sri Lanka then help Sri Lankan government to destroy LTTE once for all. That will help Tamils in Sri Lanka to live in peace.
